Canterbury Cathedral - Walk the White Cliffs - Dover Castle

We are going to take you on a wonderful adventure to give you a full flavour of the English Countryside, Architecture and History, so fasten your seat belt, pack your camera and enjoy the ride! 

 

Itinerary:

 

  • 08:00 - Collect you from your cruise ship at Greenwich Cruise Terminal.

  • 09:30 -  Private guided tour of Canterbury Cathedral.

  • 11:15 -  Drive through the countryside stopping for lunch in one of the many village pubs (own expense).

  • 13:00 -  Walk the White Cliffs of Dover

  • 14:00 -  Visit Dover Castle.

  • 17:30 - Drive back to Greenwich Cruise Terminal

  • 19:30 - Tour finishes back your cruise ship at Greenwich Cruise Terminal.

White Cliffs of Dover Tour from Greenwich Cruise Terminal

Payment:

  • We take a 10% non refundable deposit to secure the booking.

  • The balance to be paid 30 days before the date or on the day, whichever suits you best.

  • Payment by credit card including American Express.

Important information:

  • The itinerary may be subject to slight changes and timings are variable due to reasons outside of our control i.e. traffic, weather.

  • There is a moderate amount of walking & we recommend you wear comfortable footwear.

  • Our unique & special visits are often pre booked with specific time slots at venues.

  • Please notify us of any mobility issues. Unfortunately we do not have wheelchair access.

You will be met alongside your cruise ship at Greenwich Cruise Terminal at 8 am by your Local Guide Gary who will be waiting to take you on your Private Guided Tour for the day.

 

We will take a 90 minutes drive to the City Of Canterbury and its historic Cathedral which dates back to Medieval times, here you can enjoy a Private Tour which last about 90 minutes.

We will then have a drive through the beautiful Kentish countryside stopping for lunch at one of the many traditional Pubs on the way.

 

After lunch we will take you to the breathtaking White Cliffs of Dover where you can take in the stunning views across the English Channel.

 

From here we will visit the magnificent Dover Castle, the largest Castle in England. Visit the Secret Wartime Tunnels which are situated deep in the White Cliffs in the grounds of the Castle.

 

There will be plenty of photo opportunities throughout the day and we will make sure that you can truly enjoy everything at your own pace, we may even visit some local seaside villages within the day.

 

The Tour finishes in Dover between 17.00 and 18.00hrs, you’ll then be taken in style and comfort back to your cruise ship at Greenwich Cruise Terminal which will take approx. 90 minutes.

Canterbury Cathedral

Canterbury Cathedral has over 1,500 years of history and is breathtaking. The Cathedral offer private guided tours which last approx. 90 minutes. the cost is £19.00 per person, again this needs to be booked in advance which I can do for you.

To visit the cathedral without a guided tour, the price for this is £14.00 per person (see price list on their website for more information) Officially only cathedral guides are allowed to tour at the cathedral

After your private guided tour of Canterbury Cathedral, drive through the Kentish countryside and if you like stop for lunch (own expense) in one of the many village pubs. 

Walk the White Cliffs of Dover

Driving past Dover Castle to the White Cliffs of Dover. There is a 5-10 minute walk to the cliffs to get the best views and we can take a walk along the path on top of the Cliffs taking in the Magnificent views, with plenty of photo opportunities. On a clear day you can see the coast of France! Before we drive back to London, if there is time there is the opportunity to visit St Margarets Bay, a pretty little cove steeped in history of smuggling.

Dover Castle

Dover Castle is the largest castle in England and sits on the Eastern Heights of the White Cliffs of Dover. With its Great Tower standing at the heart of the site & the medieval tunnels you're taken back in time to the Henry II reign & the WWII wartime tunnels this is a must visit castle. The admission fee is £32.00 per person. The tour finishes in Dover Castle around 17:30 when we drive back to Greenwich Cruise Terminal.
